Full Chest

Adds a dart under the lapel of the jacket. On the measurement page it is called Y - Full Chest, and the two options differ by the size of the dart.

Options

  • Y - Strong / Small Lapel Dart
  • Y - Stronger / Large Lapel Dart
Y - Strong / Small Lapel DartY - Stronger / Large Lapel Dart

There is no Normal value. Leaving the setting empty means no dart is added, so pick a value only when you want the change.

It conflicts with Stomach

Both values conflict with Stomach set to Prominent or to Prominent and side. If you set both, the measurement page marks them with a Conflict warning and tells you which two settings disagree. Choose one or the other.

Garments it affects

Jackets, including the jacket in a suit or a three-piece. On Boya styles it also applies to waistcoats. The measurement page shows every setting whatever you order, so setting it on a client who buys nothing else changes nothing.

When in doubt

Leave it empty. Most clients need no body shape change at all, and it is easier to add one on a later order than to unwind one. See Body Shape and fit: start here.

How to recognize

When a jacket or lapel begins to break vertically over the chest or bust of a client, and from the side there is projection of the body, this could show a need for Full chest.

This article explains the setting. It is not an assessment of your client. We can explain what the setting does, but the choice stays with you and your brand.
