Prominent Settings

Modified on Thu, 10 Sep at 11:32 AM

Two separate settings that both start with Prom. on the measurement page. They are unrelated to each other, so treat them one at a time. Both are used primarily to help avoid posture conflicts.

Prom. Front Shoulder

A stand-in for the ordinary Front Shoulder setting, for a client who needs a backward Back posture at the same time.

The reason is that the two settings disagree. Every forward value of Front Shoulder conflicts with every backward value of Back, and the measurement page marks that pair with a Conflict warning. Prom. Front Shoulder exists so you can give the shoulder its correction without setting up that conflict.

Options

  • Yes

Yes is the only value, so leaving it empty means no change. Use it in place of Slightly Forward or Very Forward on Front Shoulder when the client also needs a backward Back. If the client's Back is not backward, use Front Shoulder as usual and leave this one empty.

Prom. Shoulder Blade

Adds an extra half inch on the centre back seam of the jacket, in the shoulder blade area.

Options

  • No
  • Yes

Garments they affect

Jackets, including the jacket in a suit or a three-piece. On Boya styles both also apply to waistcoats, shirts and overcoats. The measurement page shows every setting whatever you order, so setting them on a client who buys nothing else changes nothing.

When in doubt

Leave both empty. Most clients need no body shape change at all, and it is easier to add one on a later order than to unwind one. See Body Shape and fit: start here.

When to use

If you need to use a Front shoulder setting + Backward back setting, choose "Yes" for Prom. front shoulder.

This article explains the setting. It is not an assessment of your client. We can explain what the setting does, but the choice stays with you and your brand.
