How to Schedule a Shipment

Modified on Wed, 4 Nov at 1:20 PM

Your finished garments wait at the maker until someone asks for them. If your store is not on a fixed weekly schedule, that ask is the shipment request, and you make it yourself.

Where it is

Open the menu, then Orders, Reception, Shipments. That page lists the shipments you have already received. Shipment Requests at the top shows what you have asked for, and New request opens the page below.

Users marked Brand master or Brand Store Manager can request a shipment. A sales user cannot.

What the page shows

One block per maker, because each maker ships on its own. Inside it, two lists.

Items ready to be shipped are finished and waiting at the maker. Upcoming items are still being made, with the date each one should be finished. An upcoming item joins the shipment on its own if it is finished by the date you asked for, so a request made today can carry a garment that is still on the line.

Choosing the date

Pick the day you want the maker to ship. It has to be at least two days away, it cannot be a Sunday, and it cannot be more than fourteen days after that earliest day.

The date is a target, not a promise. Makers group orders, so a shipment often leaves two or three days after the date you asked for.

Sending it

Click Request a Shipment. You cannot pick single items: everything that is ready on that date goes, which is the point, since one shipment for many garments is what keeps the cost per garment down. Below eight items the Studio says so on the page, because a small shipment costs more per garment than a grouped one.

Once the request is in, the date shows next to the maker's name, and the items you requested leave the list. Items finishing later stay where they are, ready for your next request.

What happens next

The maker usually confirms within one or two working days. When they do, the Studio fills in the packing list and the DHL tracking number, on the order itself and on the Shipments page, so you can follow the parcel and tell your client when to come in.

When you need it faster

A shipment request cannot move a garment that is not finished. If a client needs something sooner than production allows, that is a rush, and it is a different request. Ask Help, and we will tell you what is possible for that order.

If you ship often enough, you do not have to ask at all: we can set your store up with a recurring schedule, and the maker ships on fixed days. Write to us and we will look at your volume.
